He has worked across Changi General Hospital, the Singapore Sport Institute, and with professional football clubs and athletes competing in events such as the SEA Games and Asian Para Games. He regularly collaborates with multidisciplinary teams of doctors, physiotherapists, nurses, and podiatrists to support clients returning to function—and often, exceeding it. She graduated from the University of Auckland with a BSc in Sports and Exercise Science in 2013, and started her journey at the Sports Medicine Centre in Changi General Hospital, where she learnt to bridge Sports Science and clinical implications to optimize health and performance.

She obtained her qualification in 2010 from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, on a Ministry of Health Scholarship, and eventually found her specialisation in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy after doing a Postgraduate Diploma and Master’s in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy in 2013. When helping patients, Doreen makes it her duty to get to the root cause of musculoskeletal pain and injury. She has a keen eye for viewing the patient holistically, considering all contributing factors and observing impairments arising from movement patterns. With her manual therapy techniques, Doreen believes in first restoring range and movement, accompanied by training motor control to solidify the correction of mechanical impairments, for the ultimate aim of optimising function and achieving maximum potential in physical activity and sport performance. Doreen has provided services for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, from helping with acute pain and injuries in the Emergency Department, to managing chronic pain in the clinic. When encountering patients with chronic conditions, Doreen uses her Pilates training to elevate function and alleviate symptoms, and has conducted Pilates classes for chronic low back pain. Within the sports setting, she has a keen interest in overhead sports and related shoulder conditions. She has built a protocol and an upper limb throwing class to rehabilitate overhead athletes back to their sport, and is often the go-to person in the team for complex shoulder conditions.
